Summary

The District Instructional Coach plays a pivotal role in advancing instructional excellence and fostering professional growth among educators. This position provides coaching, professional development, and curriculum guidance to support effective teaching practices that enhance student learning and align with district goals.

 

Contract

10 Month Contract

Salary Range: Based on experience and education

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The individual in this role will:

• Support the vision and strategic priorities outlined by the Director of Academics & Learning.
• Collaborate with teachers and administrators to improve instructional practices aligned with district initiatives, including the NEE Indicators: Cognitive Engagement, Critical Thinking, and Formative Assessment.
• Provide instructional coaching through classroom modeling, co-teaching, and observation-feedback cycles to enhance teaching strategies and student outcomes.
• Deliver and support professional development tailored to teacher needs, including the integration of instructional technology and evidence-based teaching practices.
• Lead the development and revision of curriculum resources, including standards-based report cards (K-5), ensuring alignment with grade-level standards and instructional goals.
• Serve as a resource and guide for teachers during curriculum development, textbook reviews, and instructional material selection.
• Stay informed about current trends and research in education, integrating best practices into district programs.
• Foster collaboration among educators by facilitating professional learning communities (PLCs) and other collaborative groups.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Academics & Learning.

 

Qualifications

 

Education

Master’s degree preferred or higher in instruction, curriculum, or educational administration and 5 years of classroom experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Valid Missouri teaching certificate

 

Skills and Abilities

 

Language

This position requires strong written and verbal communication skills. The individual who holds this position must:

 

Have sufficient reading skills to interpret educational, scientific and technical journal articles, financial reports, Board policy, governmental guidance and regulation and legal documents. Have listening skills sufficient to receive inquiries and complaints and respond appropriately.

 

Be able to make effective presentations to the Board, staff and community

 

Computation

Ability to do basic mathematical calculations and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations

 

Reasoning

Ability to define problems, collect data, verify facts, make valid conclusions and deal with abstract concepts

 

Technology

This position requires effective use of technology.

Physical Demands

The individual who holds this position is regularly required to walk, hear and speak and must have close moderate and distance vision ability. This individual must be able to travel between district facilities. The position requires a moderate amount of travel, both in and out of state.
